Yusuf Islam / Cat Stevens anuncia a reedição de "Teaser and the Firecat"

Após o 50º aniversário dos álbuns Tea for the Tillerman e Mona Bone Jakon, que definiram uma era, o cantor Yusuf Islam / Cat Stevens celebra em 2021 o álbum de sucesso que imortalizou seu status de precursor no movimento cantor-compositor. O multiplatinado álbum Teaser and the Firecat de 1971 será comemorado com um box Super Deluxe Edition em homenagem ao seu meio século de lançamento em 12 de novembro pela Universal Music, via Island Records.

Moonshadow, uma gravação inédita de Cat Stevens, realizada no Olympic Studio Demo em 1970, foi disponibilizada nas plataformas digitais. A faixa fez parte do álbum clássico Teaser.

Cat Stevens obteve um sucesso fenomenal com seu trabalho inicial, mas foi Teaser and the Firecat, seu terceiro LP com a Island Records, que o impulsionou ao estrelato, gerando alguns de seus inesquecíveis clássicos, incluindo Moonshadow, Peace Train e Morning Has Broken; canções de um jovem pesquisador espiritual, sábio além de sua idade, que estabeleceria o pretexto para uma pungente nova onda de trovadores e poetas expressivos, com alma.

Mais tarde, The Wind veria Teaser and the Firecat ser celebrado de novo, subindo à proeminência após o uso da canção no celebrado filme de Wes Anderson, Rushmore, bem como no filme de Cameron Crowe, vencedor do Oscar, Almost Famous.
