Indicações ao VMAs 2020 destacam Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande
A MTV divulgou nesta quinta (30/7) a lista dos indicados ao Video Music Awards 2020, que vai acontecer no dia 30 de agosto.
A principal premiação de clipes da TV americana destacou Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande com maior número de indicações na edição deste ano. Além de aparecerem com trabalhos individuais, as duas também concorrem pela parceria em "Rain On Me". Só este vídeo conquistou sete indicações.
Billie Eilish e The Weeknd aparecem em seguida, indicados em seis categorias cada um, seguidos por Taylor Swift, com cinco nomeações, ainda pelos vídeos de seu álbum "Lover". J Balvin, Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion e Dua Lipa também estão entre os mais citados.
Segundo comunicado, a cerimônia será presencial. A premiação vai acontecer no Barclays Center, em Nova York, com uma plateia bastante reduzida e pretende mostrar a "a poderosa força unificadora da música" em meio à covid-19.
Por conta da pandemia, que mantém os músicos e seus fãs isolados em suas casas, o VMAs 2020 também adicionou duas categorias especiais em sua eleição: de Melhor Clipe "Caseiro" e Melhor Performance na Quarentena.
